Angela Keller was born in Bern in 1949; she studies Palaeontology at the University of Bern (1977 PHD) and takes lessons in drawing and painting at the school of Arts and Crafts at the University Extensions from 1978 to 1981. In 1980 she spends time in the Isle of Elba, working on landscape. In 1984, she moves to Italy, in Piedmont. In 1993 she starts to study at the C.G. Jung Institute of Zurich and graduates in Analytical Psychology in 2000. After years of private praxis she works also for international, humanitarian Organisations in Africa, Middle East and Afghanistan. The direct contact with the suffering of the people in these Countries of conflict and war had a deep influence in her paintings of the last 10 years.
Angela Keller is deeply inspired by her dreams and fascinated by the contradiction and absurdness of the daily universe, where she sees -like trough a kaleidoscope, the continuously changing dance from sadness to irony, from tragedy to comedy.
In 2001 she holds a group of exhibitions in Piedmont which establishes her reputation as a painter. She is immediately noticed for the quality of her work. From 2002 till today personal and collective exhibitions followed in Torino, Cherasco, Piacenza, Roma, Firenze, Ferrara, Milano, Venice, Palermo, London and New York.
In 2007 Angela Keller moves to Southern Italy in Calabria, where she today lives and works on her paintings.
